The Nest Therapy & Supervision is a NSW-based Specialist Behaviour Support service providing high-quality, ethical, and person-centred support to NDIS and iCare participants with diverse and complex support needs.
Led by an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner, our service specialises in relevant report writing (Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans), functional analysis and assessment (Functional Behaviour Assessments and Risk Analysis), and behaviour support training and consultation (Restrictive Practices Assessments, Fade-out Protocols, Workplace Education). We provide capacity-building support through intervention programs, to assist in creating better outcomes for the people we support.
About Dannielle:
Dannielle, Founder of The Nest Therapy and Supervision, has 15 years of experience in the healthcare and social assistance industry. She worked on the frontline as a Disability Support Worker for five years while studying a Bachelor of Primary Teaching/Social Science. This experience gave her an understanding of behavioural presentations and highlighted the importance of behaviour support trategies being relevant, appropriate, and meaningful to the person.
After a short stint in the classroom, Dannielle completed a Master’s in Special and Inclusive Practice, majoring in Emotional Disturbance and Behaviour Disorders. This strengthened her commitment to creating meaningful change by building skills in behaviour management and behaviour analysis, igniting a deeper passion to educate others on the relationship between behaviour, communication and the environment, using evidence based methods.
Dannielle obtained her Behaviour Support Practitioner number with the NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission in 2021. While working at a not-for-profit agency, she completed an online Graduate Certificate in Medical and Health Leadership through the University of Wollongong. She has practiced as an Advanced Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner for the past five years and has provided external supervision to local and interstate organisations and sole traders since 2023.
Dannielle brings direct lived experience of a chronic sleep disorder (N2) and personal experience supporting a family member with dementia. Her approach is person-centred, with the goal of ensuring that people with disabilities and their families feel there is a way forward. She believes behaviour support is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Her goal is simple: to make sure no one feels like they're facing this alone. When something isn't working, we pause, rethink, and try a different way forward.
